What it is like working here
Culture is not a phrase on a break room wall. It is what your Tuesday actually looks like, block by block, and whether you go home with anything left. So here is the Tuesday.

What a week here actually looks like.
Your day is built out of 40-minute blocks, one patient per block. Nobody is double-booked, so nobody is waiting on you and you are never apologizing to one person while you set up another. That single scheduling decision is what makes the rest of the day possible: time to think during an evaluation, time to change your mind halfway through a session, and time to document while the visit is still fresh in your head.
You keep your own patients. About 95% of visits happen with the clinician who did the evaluation, and no one gets handed off mid-session. That continuity is how you find out whether your reasoning was right, and it makes the plan of care yours to defend and yours to adjust.
The ramp is deliberate
New clinicians are not dropped into a full schedule and wished luck. Through Mentoring For Mastery you start at roughly one evaluation per day and build toward two, with a visit load in the range of 40 to 60 per week after the second month. Mentoring starts weekly, moves to bi-weekly, then to monthly 40-minute sessions across the first two years, so the support tapers as your judgment fills in rather than disappearing after orientation. The full progression is on the Mentoring For Mastery page.
Two offices, one standard
Swansea opened on July 23, 2001. Providence opened in 2015. Both run the same 40-minute one-on-one model, and both are backed by care coordination staff who handle scheduling, benefits verification and insurance questions, so those calls are not landing on you between patients.
Schedule flexibility is part of the arrangement here, not a negotiation you have to win every quarter. The practice is deliberate about protecting the hours you do not spend in the clinic, because 25 years of watching clinicians burn out elsewhere made the case better than any policy could.
The standards we actually hold.
Four values run this practice, and they are treated as commitments rather than aspirations.
Deliver Unparalleled Care
Fanatically focused on the best possible patient care.
Pursue Mastery
Lifelong learners who keep sharpening the craft.
Lift Each Other Up
A supportive environment where patients and teammates both do well.
Seek Balance
Deliberate decisions that weigh quality of care, clinician satisfaction and the health of the business, because lasting excellence needs all three and collapses without any one of them.
The mission, in the words we use internally
We transform lives by helping people feel, move, perform and live better. The clinical standard behind that sentence is specific. SFMA is the core evaluation system, and clinicians are expected to work through regional interdependence to find the cause instead of chasing the symptom around the body. Two clinicians on staff are board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialists, and Dr. Greg Specht, PT, DPT, OCS, is an instructor for Functional Movement Systems who teaches SFMA to other clinicians.
Quality over quotas
The practice has been therapist-owned since 2001. There is no corporate owner setting visit quotas, which is the only reason a 40-minute session survived 25 years of pressure to shorten it. Independence here is a working condition, not a marketing line, and it shows up most clearly on the days when the honest clinical answer is fewer visits rather than more.
The people who do well here
Passionate, curious, humble, empathetic, collaborative. In practice that means asking a colleague for a second opinion on a stalled case without feeling diminished by it, and giving one without turning it into a lecture. It also means telling a patient the truth about their timeline.
If that reads like the environment you want to practice in, the physical therapist role covers the caseload, the schedule and the requirements, and the careers page has the student tracks. Or call (508) 675-3200 and ask what is open.
Two things we are serious about: every patient and every team member getting to their full potential, and a workplace that stays genuinely positive. Nearly everything else is open to discussion.
Ready when you are.
